SCAM: Posing as buyer to Car for Sale ads

I was advertising my used car for sale, and got an instant respond through the forum message. This guy showed interest to buy, dished up a juicy story about his whereabout on a ship and that the car shall be shipped for a present to his Reverend Father, etc, etc.

The scheme is that he would transfer money to my account (that propably will initally show, but then bounced after the clearing period). Within this period, an amount of EUR 1000 - 1300 shall be submitted to the shipping agent to pick up the car. Interestingly, this "international" shipping company accepts only Western Union payment...


Fortunately, those idiots are not too smart in giving a good cover for their scheme. For example, they provide a shipping company that actually does only business in UK. There are some other indication such as emails of the apparent shipper with public domain names, and mobile phone number to contact.

I have placed my first add in GeoExpat. I got the respond on that site. Meanwhile I have also advertised on this site, so far I got genuine contact. I thought it would be good to inform user on this forum as well. Just in case any seller will be contacted in the same manner.
