Parents that claim it was all through their efforts that the child became a champion... well, you're kidding yourselves... The child had to have his/her own talent...determination... self-discipline ... luck...
We give them one thing: encouragement.
That is the best as parents we can do.
As someone who's raised children with different personalities, motivations and interests, I am disgusted by the concept of shaping a child to be what the parent wants. A child wants to be loved by their parents. They try to please most of the time. Is it fair to push them to do something so that you can enjoy the success? Ask yourselves, would you want some tyrant pushing you around?

I agree to flasback, as a mother we need to support, encourage our kids/children for their likes to become success. There is a love, care, encouragement, support and positive in the things what they want to do that we create possibilities for their success. And not pushing them what we want as a parents.
Loving school and every subject is not a difficult task if they look at the mirror from the right angle. It works!!
Like from my favorite movie "LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL" it means to me Positive attitude towards life.
I will let to know my son how LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL even it is sometimes mesirable..
