We have friends coming in that week and it was a disastrous Saturday morning trying to get tickets thru hkticketing (no one picked up the phone at all! ).
Curious as to what the going rate is if I purchase the tickets thru "those who have extra" - is it better to buy them now or do tix show up at the last minute? What is the usual markup? Considering the original price of 1250 per, I've seen ads posted asking in the region of 2500-5000!
Thanks.

it's called scalping...everyone bleats about it but a blind eye is turned. You really need to network for tickets, there are alot of 'friend of a friend' deals out there...people can't make it at the last minute...buying at the gate can get you a bargain, at least for Friday seats...on a related note, I love the talking head from HKRFU (something Gregory??) commenting that the online/phone sale went smoothly lol..obv. he didn't spend his morning on the phone/web

Thanks - I just wanted to get a sense of if I should take my chances and wait. But since they are flying in from the UK they are anxious to have tix in hand.
LOL - it was anything but smooth. I called over 50 times and the line was dead. It was def. the right # since I called to check the day before. And the online sale - you have 10 minutes to check out but it takes 9 minutes and 59 seconds to go through their checkout process! Argh!

wouldn't they have a better chance getting the tix in the uk with a package? loads of tix go to the incoming teams to sell overseas, afaik...
