I am selling my flat in HK and using the solictor recommended by the real estate agent. Trouble is, I am not a HK resident and this solicitor is insisting I travel to HK to sign the legal docs. This is just not possible in next few weeks due to work & family commitments. I just purchased a property in UK and all docs were signed, witnessed & couriered - I did not have to go to UK at all. Anyone know if this is possible in HK or failing that, if I can appoint a HK resident as Power of Attorney.
Please reply asap! Thx.

Hi annej,
Not sure why your solicitor is insisting you travel to HK to sign the docs, all that would be needed is a Power of Attorney appointing someone in HK (family/friend/etc) to sign on your behalf.
The POA would have to be executed in your home county and notarized to ensure it's recognizable in HK.
Talk to your solicitors and if they're not willing to cooperate, my firm can take care of the transaction for you.
