Good Morning All,
I wanted to the get the opinion of both expatriates and locals on this . I have been investigating lately about tourism to HK and in the main it seems that most of the promotion of HK goes into marketing places like Disney Land, Ocean Park, Peak Galleria and the shopping malls etc etc but not much on what really made HK the place that it is today.
What is your opinion on a service which is more focussed on the old HK mixed with the new, a tour of places that aren't on the usual tours. Suchas, what was it like in HK during colonial times, the experience of the 2nd world war and what happened here. How the place changed from the 60's, 70's and 80's and into the handover period. I bet a lot of people don't know that there are still two gas street lamps in HK in Central!
Would people be interested in this do you think?
Thank you

Jason Wordie a great historian does tours of this kind around Hong Kong and are very popular.

There are plenty of those as well but they don't get as much attention. The YWCA has a ton of more historic tours. It think Mr. Wordie does work for them too.
