It has been ten years now for my debts in some credit card and never heard from them, so does it mean it is already been written off. For what I know in UK it takes 6 years beafore a debt can be written off.

its now different.. bank shares information with one another and I heard even sells them.. My brother owe credit cards 15 years ago and left not because he didnt want to pay but because they would not accept the payment terms of my brother... within these 5 years, when he just open a bank account, they were able to find him... It will not be written off....
