actually this article is the first chapter from a book called "nurtureshock" which is a bit like freakonomics for parents. lots of interesting and valuable research in this book which i can highly recommend as a read.
the whole book is a bit US focused, i.e. it deals with topics such as black vs white race and whether you talk about it or not with the kid, but even then i took something away from that chapter to adapt to hong kong
