Hi, Could anyone tell me how to go about becoming a real estate agent (selling), I will be arriving in Hong Kong in about 1 month and have a visa through my husbands work that enables me to also work. I have lived in Hong Kong for 9 years and know the place really well. I have a background in Retail Management, sales and Fashion, but I want to try something new this time in Hong Kong. Any help would be much appreciated.

You need to pass an exam from the Estate Agent Authority in Hong Kong before you can practise (see http://www.eaa.org.hk/welcome.htm ). There is some demand for non-Chinese estate agents - but not much as many valuable HK properties are now being bought up by mainland Chinese who speak Mandarin. Your best bet is to get the exam and then approach companies like Century 21, Savills and Engel & Volkers around the SOHO Mid-levels area. You can also try Discovery Bay and to a much lesser extent Happy Valley and Sai Kung. SOHO/Mid-levels definitely your best bet if you want to make some money.
