You will need to pay a fine...if exceeding 2 months , will need to undergo imprisonment and a 5 years no entry ban...

@ cookie09...ummm...I'm a immigration consultant by profession. I know what I'm talking about.

@ Stubby...15 days is understandable but as your visa has expired and you have not renewed yet , you wont be considered as a renewal case. You will asked to exit Hong Kong to the earliest (probably without any fine or punishment as less than 30 days) and your husband will need to file a fresh application as if you are coming on his dependant visa for the first time. Btw y r u asking me, jus call the inquiry number, wait on the que and the ask the officer ...

Don't believe the trolls, stubby. You will be fine. Oldspiceman is not an immigration officer. He can't even speak proper english. Also, report oldspiceman to the Ed of asiaxpat and he will be banned for pretending to be an immigrartion officer.

I suggest you take your husband with you and go back to the immigrations and explain your situation. You will be fine.

[UPDATE] Please note that fee quotes stated in historic postings may be out-of-date.

This should be handled very carefully; the Immigration Department is prosecuting some over stayers depending on the circumstances. Often they may at the very least conduct an investigation, ask for sworn statements and the like. It is best to obtain legal advice on this soonest, overstaying is a CRIMINAL offence.
