Hi - looking for malt syrup here in HK. Have checked most of the health food stores in Central, as well as 360, Great, citysuper, Oliver's... but no luck. Anyone know where I can find it?

What are you using it for? could it be substituted with golden syrup or molasses? I made something that called for corn syrup but I replaced it with golden, it turned out fine (recipe is in my blog) - but I guess you may have a specific reason for the malt syrup eh...
I hate to say, if you have searched in the above supermarkets and still no luck, chances are quite slim that you would find it elsewhere...

I've been making bagels and they are missing the color and flavor that the malt syrup can provide. I still have to play around a bit with rising and baking times to get the right texture, but I know malt will be a key ingredient for making them right. If I can't find it here, perhaps I'll pick up some on my next trip back.

Look for a shop called 'Prize Mart'. There is one in Central Alleys, one in Wanchai, Hennessey road . They have Malt syrup.
