Sai Kung/Clear Water Bay

After much deliberation, we are seriously considering moving to one of these areas, but at the moment we are undecided which one, and plan to have a good look around to get a feel for both places.

We realise that everyone has different views/expectations, but if anyone who already lives there could give us their thoughts on any particular areas where you are currently living and would recommend for us to take a look, that would be a great help!

Our kids are both now at university, so schooling isn't a consideration for us to worry about. We have 2 cars, so getting around won't be a problem for us (assuming we can get a place with 2 parking spaces!) ... we just need to consider the kids when they are back home for the holidays, as they will no doubt make use of public transport for their nights out!

Although we've lived on 'the island' for many years, we've never really been 'city people', and we do realise that it's going to be a completely different way of life, but it's a change which the whole family are eager and ready to make.

Also, if anyone could recommend a good agent for us to contact, who could line up many different properties to show us over a weekend, that would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hmm. I have been thinking the same. Lived on HK for 6 years and ready for more peace and hopefully cleaner living. But...I have 2 very young kids. Newborn and 17 months. I would also like to hear peoples opinions of each that have moved from the Island.

Cara,

1. Approx $48K-$58K

2. I won't be working, hubby works in Wanchai and doesn't mind the commute.

3. Enjoy outdoor lifestyle/garden, like to enjoy our home, BBQs etc. 2 dogs to walk, enjoy casual dining out occasionally, but also enjoy entertaining at home. Hubby enjoys hiking ... I like to stroll;-)

Thanks Cara, that's some good points for us to consider when looking around the various areas.

If anyone else has any advice to offer it would be much appreciated!

Your situation mirrors ours a couple of years back. we moved to CWB and just love it. We like being so close to the MTR (10 mins drive) at Hang Hau, and we pop into SK to shop and dine out. Loads of walks for the dog and we love just generally spending more time at home. ..

Sorry! as I was saying...Hang Hau MTR is only 10 mins away and never a parking problem. We shop and dine in SK frequently and your kids' social lives will not suffer..ours either leave the car at HH when they go out, or for those very late and slightly boozy nights get a taxi home from Central/Wanchai , not prohibitive, under $200. Their friends love coming out here too. I can msg you a contact for an Agent if you like?

tala - sounds like you made the right decision to move! We had a good look around CWB yesterday and liked what we saw - off to SK for a look around tomorrow! I'd be very grateful if you could msg me the contact for an agent. Thanks very much!
