Hi,. looking for tickets for the family to Manchester, UK in summer, getting quoted over $10,000 per ticket, nearly half of that is in tax! Can't afford to take the bubs to see granny at that price. Can you recommend a web site or travel agent who can find cheaper flights?

Fly to Paris and then get Eurostar/ Much cheaper way of doing it as you avaoin the BAA's exhorbitant airport tax and the UK Government's "environmental tax" which are a big add=on to the cost of a ticket.

While Finnair fly the fastest one-stop route to London, they are almost never the cheapest.
Consistently cheapest to Europe is Aeroflot. After that you'll typically see one of the gulf airlines like Emirates or Qatar Airways.
Again, use www.kayak.com and you'll get all the information including which days are best.

I discovered to my folly that flights to UK are horribly expensive for travel in June, e.g. CX economy special (V class) fare HK$11,855, and apparently going up again if booked after 12 May.
