Anybody know if there is a searchable register of civil court judgments in HK? A link would be helpful.

Hi Foxmulder, the Judiciary website has a link for judgments. You have to specify which particular jurisdiction you're looking for want.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Shoe Girl (a girl, interested in shoes? Surely not!). I should have made myself a bit clearer. I am trying to discover if any civil judgments for debt have been made against a particular person. I have his full name and ID number. Is this possible?

Hi Foxmulder,

If this person has been sued in his name and not a company name, you could maybe try using the advanced search on the judiciary website.

Another way you could find out, there's a company I have used in the past called Tolfin, part of the Target Group, and for a fee they will do court checks. Not sure if their prices have gone up because I haven't used them for a few years, but for High Court actions they charge $350 and $250 for District Court. They do everything from writs of summonses, commercial actions, bankruptcy proceedings. Check out their website, www.tolfin.com Hope this helps.
