Does anyone have any experience with Mac computers using Time Machine to back up their computer? It seems all of last years photos of mine have been deleted whilst I was making new folders but cant work out why - previous years and this years are fine but cant find 2010 which is very frustrating!

I used to use Time Machine software to back up onto the Time Capsule but after one year the Time Capsule would not be able to mount and all my data would be gone. I'm now using Time Machine to back up onto an external hard disk.


Time Machine wouldn't delete old files. Try accessing Time Machine and check older backups to see if the files are still there.

thanks, yes I also back up with time machine to an external drive. I have looked back on the time machine to last year (specifically summer and xmas time where lots of photos were taken) but there doesnt seem to be any pics. I am guessing I will have to get an expert in to have alook- they must be hiding somewhere - i Hope!
