hi,
i was told it is possible to get a police record of good standing for security guards, drivers, nannies, helpers, etc. I think the person can request it themselves and it's called a Liang Min Zheng (good citizen certificate) which shows they have no criminal record. Does anybody have any idea if this is true or has obtained one recently? Someone told me they changed it recently where you cannot get one but seems a bit odd as I imagine anybody hiring security guards would require it....

It's limited to very few categories - mainly for visa applications etc. but teachers can also get it if returning to their home countries to teach.
Security guards need a separate licence here which is also done through the police.
Not a hope of getting one for helpers or drivers.
