Fascinating Guardian article. I have a digital camera, the Lumix G3 ( http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Products/LUMIX+Digital+Cameras/Overview/LUMIX+G+Micro+System+Cameras/4855154/index.html ) but because I am old (56) I also have a large collection of physical photo albums from yesteryear (well from 1910-1980s). What do I do with these? Have them digitised, and forgo the pleasures of page turning and the physical feel of some photos, with scribbled messages on the back? Or leave them as they are and risk them becoming dusty, cracked and crumbly? Or maybe do both?

I think I may need to do more research!

I haven't made an album for a few years now. I prefer to use sites like Smugmug to store and display my images. If I want to have a physical copy, albums (good archival ones at least) are simply too expensive now. I can make a book on Blurb and have it shipped about the price of good printing and a high quality album - and family and friends can all buy copies as well. Making a book also gives me far greater creative control of the final product.
