i'm 5'2", my husband is 5'4". so we're pretty small. My daughter has been lowest 5%tile on height charts. She's shorter than other chinese 5 yrs old girls, any parents tried growth hormone injections?

I'm with cara. Your daughter is going to be short. Accept that. What good would making her taller do? There are more important things to worry about.

I think you need to reconsider

Actually a close family friend of ours injected their 2 children with grow hormones in early adolescence and I can tell you that the children did not benefit height wise from the treatment. They are the same size as their parents.
I agree with the other posters, just embrace the differences that make each and every one of us more interesting. If you have accepted your height and have lived a good life, have a happy marriage, blessed home life, then you'll know yourself that height is not that relevant. Let your child know that so that he/she doesn't grow up with hang ups about it.

Hi
My friends are same size parents. Their ancesters are all small. she was determined to break norm. Her boys are now 5'11. She encouraged them to be strong swimmers from kindergarten days to highschool. They gained lung capacity, great body, and the desired ht.
Even if you do use growth hormones........... cultivate a love of swimming. Your biggest "enemy" is computer games.

A growth hormone injection for growth is well established medical treatments
but please aware that it takes daily injections and usually takes years to
optimize the effects. Dr. Cheng Pik Shun in Hong Kong is the expert in this
field, you may find her at http://www.imedclinic.hk/eng/chengpikshun.html

Some studies have shown exercise during childhood can actually make you taller or at least more likely to reach your maximum potential height and that genetics and nutrition are not the only contributors to height. Theory goes that exercise encourages the body to release growth hormone as well maintaining muscle tone which promotes good posture. Curvature of the spine will take off centimetres. Never the less everybody has a maximum potential height, good nutrition and exercise can help achieve it and the reverse can help you fall short of it. I am a proud 5"3' and have never felt held back by it. Except maybe that one time I didn't make roller coaster cut off height.

Afterthought: I would seek advice on a diet that can naturally stimuate the pituatary gland.
