Island Junks v. Jaspa's Junks

I'm wanting to book a junk for my husbands birthday in October. Adults no kiddies. Which junk should i book? Island Junks or Jaspa's Junks. I have not been on either yet but think that these two may be best for food, drinks and music. We will invite several couples. i think both have a max of 40 people though :( I am not sure if to book day / evening ...and journey/departure does not bother me too much.


Has anyone been on both? ..and if you can highly recommend one, please can you give me the reasons why...

Hi I have used Saffron Cruises and found them quite good.

Island Junks OR Jaspa's Junks ...and, as mentioned, the reasons why you preferred one of the two.

I've never 'junked' before either but will be on Jaspa's on friday. My friends are raving about it and telling me I'm going to love it. IMHO, it's pretty pricey at $600 for a day's sailing to Sai Kung and back, all food and drinks but I'm told it's all top notch. I'll report back on it after I've been! It's a shame I have to work on Saturday so I can't go all out.

ah, that's funny ;) thanks! and have a good time. i hear it's great ...but that Island Junks 'a bit more modern'!? I KNOW you'll have a good time though.. ;))

I have been on a few of the junks in HK and I have to say by far the best is Island Junks. It has been refreshing to have a new junk company to use this summer, instead of the usual Jaspa's.

Island Junks are just much nicer and more premium in everything. They are beautiful teak chinese junks and the quality is top notch. You get lots of added extras that you never get with other junk companies. Such as padded seating, great padded sun decks to chill out on, fab bean bags on the top deck, towels, sunscreen, noodles and masks and fins to muck around in the water with, as well as a kayak!

Plus and being a girl I love having proper flushing toilets and warm showers with shampoo!

We have either done the Regular BBQ menu and regular Drinks Package, or quite often just do the regular drinks package and go over to Po Toi for lunch with friends. for $450 per person and free flowing all day it is great value.

Also, we often go with friends who have children and they are so looked after, with toys for the kids and life jackets.

The service onboard is great too, so nice to have a Captain and Boat Boy that want to do as much as poss for you!

My husband and I wouldn't book anywhere else now - Island Junks is just more premium and so much better and nicer than the other companies!

My hubby actually uses them for corporate evening bash's too now! Ideal for entertaining clients.

I've been on 2 or 3 Jaspa's junks, and every time there were always problems with the toilet flushing. By the end, people didnt care and so it just continued to get blocked. Its sucks, esp if you're one of the few sober ones who is also not swimming.
