I am planning to spend about 6 mths each year in Melbourne and 6 mths in HK. Which would be the best suburb to live with easy access from the airport without car, easy reach to the CBD with a quiet and residential feel to it, so not skyscrapers on Southbank type of place. many thanks!

Ascot Vale, Kensington, Essendon and Moonee Ponds are lovely leafy suburbs with some lovely period homes, and a great cafe scene.
Look them up on
domain.com.au
for the homes then streetview on google the neighbourhood
