Hi
I have just arrived in HK from the UK this week, and the plan is for my family to join me. I have 3 kids - ages 1, 3 and 5.
We are still waiting to see if my 5 year old will get into an ESF school - he is on the waiting list for Sha Tin JS. We originally applied here as an ex-colleague lives in the NT and he suggested this as a nice area to live.
On a temporary basis, we will be staying in Kennedy, so I could move the application to the school there if I wanted.
Apparently the wait lists at both schools are relatively similar. Other IS were either full or out of our budget.
Can anyone give advice on the relative merits of the two schools and areas to live in their "zones" - particularly given my wife is a sociable, "stay-at-home mum".
I have not yet discussed a specific housing budget with my company but I understand it would be in the region of HK$30k-40k pcm.
Many thanks in advance

Thanks Cara
I will be having the detailed conversations tomorrow hopefully, but I know this is the kind of amount previous families have had as a budget.
Having looked, I think Sai Sha road is in the catchment for clearwater bay (just - I think the boundaries change at Symphony Bay - which it looks like is where Sai Sha Rd starts).
There are some places directly opposite the Sha Tin school (Villa Cascade?) - does anyone have any views on this area?
In terms of the schools themselves, would there be much to choose between them, or is it down to personal choice?
Thanks

Just found out we've been offered a place (subject to interview) in Sha Tin Junior School.
Is there a large/active expat community in the catchment for this school (Sha Tin, Ma On Shan, Tai Po, etc)?
Where would be the best places to live for my wife with two younger kids.
Cara, you mentioned Tai Po, is that for value for money reasons or for the community.
I work in Wan Chai and so have to factor in the commute when looking at options further out.
Thanks
