Tung Chung estates

Hi there! I know some people have asked for advice about living in Tung Chung in the past but since there aren't any "recent" threads, I thought I would start a new one as things change very quickly in HK!!

I'm considering moving to Tung Chung and I've already visited a few flats which I liked but I have some questions which the estate agents can't really answer and I wasn't able to see for myself (agents don't have access to the clubhouses).

I'm looking at Tung Chung Crescent, Seaview Crescent, Coastal Skyline and Caribbean Coast.

Here are the questions I have:

1. What are the clubhouses like? Specifically: how many pools are there and are they open all year round? Is the equipment in the gym of good standard? How crowded do the facilities get?

2. How noisy is it living there? Do you hear planes, boats? Are the walls between the flats thick or can you hear everything your neighbours say/do?

3. How convenient is it to shop for groceries? I know that there is a Taste in Citygate and I think there are also some shops under Caribbean Coast but I haven't seen them yet! What is the variety of products like? Can you find a good mix of Asian and Western food products?

4. For Carib.Coast, how reliable and frequent is the shuttle bus to the MTR? I will be travelling outside of peak times so will I still be able to use the shuttle? If I were to walk to the MTR how long would it take if I walked at a relatively slow pace?

Any other comments you want to share are greatly appreciated! Thanks...

I live in TC cresent, to the point can answer first 3

1 - Club house is quite good with badminton courts, table tennis ,gym, open pool(see the pool from google map), children play area so all in all its quite open and big

2- I dont find it too noisy same as any other place in HK are, plane noise can be heard esp in winters but you get so use to and its very low when windows are closed. Walls are thick enough as well :)

3 - Around TC Cresent its most convinient as there is fresh market for veg and meat, Taste/welcome/mannings/medical clinics/cinema/mall/food court are just closeby. At the end MTR is just couple of mins away

Carib coast is all together a different world so would not comment on that.

cheers

Thanks for your response Viv,

Just a couple more questions :)

TC Crescent only has 1 outdoor pool right? So no pool open all year round?

What is the Gym like?

Thanks

Does anyone know what they are building in front of Phase 1 at CC??

IS it noisy there during the day? I saw a nice flat on the 35th floor and the owners assured me it wasn't noisy but I'd like a 2nd opinion.

Anyone know when they will start adding height? i.e. when will it start blocking the sea view/sun light.

Thanks

Ouch!! Is it really that noisy even from the 35th floor? I'm only planning on living there about a year, do you think it will already be affecting my view by then?

Coatal Skyline - indoor out door pool, gym ect. Never crowded really unless its the weekend in the afternoon.

Seaview Cres - only an out door pool but the gym facilities are good.

2. How noisy is it living there? Do you hear planes, boats? Are the walls between the flats thick or can you hear everything your neighbours say/do?

Coastal Skyline - you get used to it, peak hour of the planes are around 10pm till just after midnight. We have live in TC for 9 years and its no concern. We are now in Le Bleu Deux and its not bother.

3. How convenient is it to shop for groceries? I know that there is a Taste in Citygate and I think there are also some shops under Caribbean Coast but I haven't seen them yet! What is the variety of products like? Can you find a good mix of Asian and Western food products?

Welcome in the Coast skyline circle you also have a reliable park n shop delievery.
