We used Wolgang Derler owner and director of WP Engineering Engineering Limited Hong Kong and I can tell you it was an unmitigated disaster!!!! The whole project was pretty big but speaking about the bathrooms and plumbing in general we found that they did not waterproof the walls and floors and used a cheap grade of bathtub which resulted in leakage! Also many of the welds for the water pipes were poorly done and had to be repaired as part of a complete do over of the whole project!


Make sure you get a registered contractor - they must be registered with the Buildings Department - and make sure that if you are a layman get some professional advice/assistance to monitor the work being done.


And finally.....hold back lots of cash to make sure you are completely happy with the project before parting with your hard earned cash.


If the project is substantial I believe you can issue a bond to secure the job...something to that effect....if anyone has info on that please weigh in.

I can fully confirm the same treat as posted by rsmith. Used WP Engineering for a full flat remodeling. Flat is of small size only but the constructional defects fill pages. All windows leaking and of inappropriate and unsafe design. As with rsmith no waterproofing in the bathroom and leaking piping work leading to more property damages in the flat. Entire wooden floor rotten and infested with pests. Many of the contractually promised items either not delivered, with tremendous delays, with poor workmanship or wrong dimensions. Full remodeling of the entire flat was necessary. Damages in the hundreds of thousands of HKD.

Consumers be warned of the business practices of WP Engineering and Wolfgang Derler.

Hey Nanjing93. It may well be that Wolfgang is a nice drinking buddy, but indeed as a craftsman he is pretty useless and has damaged many people's properties with his botching and his poor workmanship and reckless business practices. Indeed he had been nice in projects until he had to deliver the actual work. Then he turned into a very nasty person you really dun want to meet in your life. I would consider him at least very unconsiderate!! So maybe better you stay only a drinking buddy of his and never endeavor into any business matter with him!
