Hello -
It seems every time I go on a junk, we always sail to Clearwater Bay and pull up alongside 30 or 40 other boats. Don't get me wrong - it's lovely and always a good time - but I would like to change it up a little bit next time.
I've heard Tai Long Wan is beautiful but far, and I know the extra sailing time would not go down well for some of my friends.
Can anybody suggest a destination other than Clearwater Bay, which is easy to reach and hopefully relatively secluded.
Many thanks in advance for your ideas!

you can get junks that leave from Sai Kung, drastically cutting the time to Tai Long Wan/Long Ke Wan...

Thanks, I appreciate the quick info.... I'll keep this in mind, but I have a feeling my HK Island-loving crew will have a hard time finding the motivation to get to Sai Kung on a Saturday morning... was hoping to leave from the public piers in Central or Causeway Bay.

you could try Sth Lantau, some nice clean water, not many other boats at all.

Turtle beach or power station beach on Lamma
Sth Lantau as above
Po Toi

Tai Tam Bay
Ninepins
both are similar travelling time as to go to Clearwater Bay
Another 30 mins would get you to Basalt/Bluff Islands and the start of Rocky Harbour - but that gets crowded with Sai Kung Junks too and that 30 mins may be quite bouncy.
Leave early, that's the key!

Does anyone know of any junk boats that run from Macau?
