Hi, I've just returned to HK after 10 years and the places I used to buy business clothes (Theme, Episode, Colour 18) all seem to have disappeared - doesn't seem to be anything between designer stuff and junk except chain stores like Zara and M&S which are not suitable... any ideas or recomendations for a good tailor (Island side). Thanks!

A word of warning having suits made for ladies in Hong Kong - most tailors in HK are very good at making men's suits but when it comes to ladies they tend to make the trousers like mens'. Before getting your suit made, ask to see samples, particularly trousers they've previously made or see a suit that the tailor has made for someone else. I had a ladies suit made from a well know highly recommended tailor and whilst the color was great, the material was excellent, but the trousers was styled just like a man's. I took my trousers back 3 times and whilst they were happy to accept it back, they just could not get it right for a lady. My husband had fabulous suits made from the same tailor and it was perfect, both jacket and trousers. Therefore, ensure the tailor has plenty of experience making for ladies and not just for men but willing to make for ladies!
Otherwise, I'm afraid it's designer or junk in HK!
