I come to Hong Kong every 4 weeks and i wanted to buy a scooter to get around. I am from the US and have a US motorcycle license and hold an International driving permit. Can i buy a scooter here and drive it? If not Can i get a HK license without a Hong Kong ID card? Please tell me the possible ways to drive a scooter here.

Same issues when i came back from the states Yes you ca ride with a license . I dont think you can own a scooter here , You would need hk ID , also insurance matters ? yes you can get a HK license without a Hong Kong ID card would be difficult thou ? Rent a scooter ! , if you do get the scooter let us know we go for a ride or PM me

To own a vehicle in HK you need to show proof of adress, electricity bill etc
