early termination of company appartment

Hi all,

Company signed an apt for an employee. Terms of termination of the lease are very unflexible (2 yrs fixed), since the company did not foresee a quick turnover for this position and wanted to provide "security" to the employee.

Employee leaves 6 months into the job.

What are the options? Is there any way the company get out of the contract? Anybody with similar experience here?

much appreciated

If you were the landlord, what would you expect from your tenant? I would expect them to pay up.

But if the landlord is VERY nice, he might agree to let you find a replacement tenant.

Where is the flat located? Perhaps it is a good deal to attract Asiaxpat readers.

if its a standard 2 year lease then its a 1+1. You can just forfeit the security deposit and be on your way.
