Sorry for the title, I couldn't help it.
I'm looking for somewhere in Hong Kong that sells various hardwoods suitable for crafts and furniture building. Small quantities of rosewood, ebony, mahogany and such. The lumber guys look at me like I'm nuts. Any ideas?

I searched for decent timber in Hong Kong, and came up empty handed. The only wood I could get a hold of was via a furniture company in Aberdeen, and that was nowhere near the quality I needed (for musical instruments) and certainly not the timber species I wanted.
I've been forced to buy my timber from overseas suppliers and online, but it would be nice to be able to inspect the materials in-person, and work with someone local.
Another difficulty I've had is finding finishing supplies and quality tools. This really isn't the place :(
