Hi all,
I just had a new floor done in my office and after much go around and 3 tries to get it FLAT SMOOTH AND LEVEL, I now have an uneven bumpy floor with lose tiles and some kind of nasty echo cause he laid plywood down on top of the fresh concrete he laid that he couldnt get level. I should have told him to stop after the first failed attempt, but alas...
They finished on Sunday a week later than they were supposed to so my business lost a weeks revenue.
My question is this, I have paid him 50%... In my opinion that is all he should get and I am loath to pay him another penny considering the outcome of the work!
Where do I stand with this??? Anyone have any experience with this???
Thanks

I was in a similar position with my home renovations. The renovation company didnt complete the job on time and there were many mistakes. They had another job and didnt want to continue further or fix the mistakes, so i didnt pay the final 30%. They accepted, and that was the end of it.
Are they willing to negotiate? ITs better if you can come to an agreement with them. If not, then let them take you to SCT if they think they have a case. But by the sound of things, it seems you will need to get your floor done again? Perhaps you should ask for your 50% deposit back.
