Hi - does anyone know where in Hong Kong I can buy a kindle?

i,too am desperate for a kindle, however I had no luck finding one here. So i have had to order mine from the amazon website and will wait until i am in the US at christmas to pick it up (new kindle fire isnt being shipped outside of the US yet)

I did see one in the classified section of this website (just do a search) though a couple of days ago, it might still be there?

Alternatively, amazon is now shipping kindles to HK, so jump on thier website and check that out.

I've received three of the new Kindles from Amazon (basic model - USD109 each). Delivery charges on top are a pain if you're only getting one but for three it's not bad. You also can't get the ultra cheap one with adverts. Ordered on Monday and they arrived on Wednesday! Nice and light but I reckon (like many other reviewers) that the screen is not so good as you seem to get a lot of ghost text from previous pages. Only an issue if you are looking a less than full page of text. Size and weight make it overall better for me. Still need to find a cheap, non-Amazon, cover for it. Will check out Wanchai Computer Centre.

You might want to try ebay.com if you dont spot any in wanchai. I just bought a kindle cover from there for HKD90.

If you do end up finding one at wanchai or anywhere else though, please let me know where. Im sure I'll be looking for a second one at some point.

I've fixed the ghosting problem with the new Kindle. It is to do with the refresh rate on the screen. New Kindle default is to refresh every 6 pages which leads to ghosting. You can manually download an update from the Amazon site (google Kindle update). If you have the first version of Kindle software (4.0) you will need to update your Kindle to give you the option to switch to refreshes after every page. Clear instructions are given on Amazon. I've done this and the ghosting problem has now gone.
