I've been asked to move to HK with my job, (Banking) they are sponsoring me only and paying for the move.
My GF works as a freelance fashion stylist in London and is self-employed. We are very keen to move but from doing some research it looks like she won't be able to obtain a visa to work. And would need sponsorship.
I'm wondering if you someone can advise on potential visa issues and help me with some info on the fashion industry in Hong Kong?
Is anyone able to advise me on obtaining a visa as a freelancer? Or if she goes without a visa how easy it is to find work as a Brit in her industry? Is there is much calling for her roll in HK. She really doesnt want to give up on her career here without knowing it'll work.
She doesn't want to be away for too long from England if she can't find any work or is not able to work at all. So need to know before hand.
She speaks English, French and Italian but not Mandarin. I would very much appreciate any advice if u know anyone who has been in a similar situation or who works in the fashion industry in HK?
Many thanks

Hi - do you have extra space in your container? I've got 5cm to move from London to HK - would be happy to contribute to costs.
Thanks & I look forward to hearing from you - Kerrin +852 9074 4327

Actually your girlfriend could start her own company in HK and then sponsor herself, talk to an immigration consultant and they should be able to talk you through it. Don't talk to HKTDC as they will bamboozle you with red tape and create a lot of hurdles.
