UK boarding school does not return deposit

My son finished his GCSE at a boarding student at UK at 2009. However the school does not refund our deposit of stg5,000.00 until now. Our base is in Hong Kong that they ignor our claim. Please advise any action can be taken? Which organization we can ask for help? or legal action is need?

Hi, great to have your advise. I would like to provide more details that all payment had been settled and that is a independent school. I have sent the request to the headmaster already with no response received. Please advise if there any channel for me to lodge a complaint or to file a claim. Do you think one solution is to issue a STATUTORY DEMAND? or a pro-bono solicitors can take up my case?please advise. thank
