Substance abuse and divorce in HK

My husband and I have a very stressful, unhealthy marriage. If accusations of abuse of substances are raised, it is better that the accused party seek treatment and help, or will the documentation of admission work against them?

I've looked at all the gov't websites about divorce here, which offer little detailed information about such. Any advice or other resources are appreciated. I know that seeking counsel is most likely the most advisable option, but I do not have the personal funds to do so yet and cannot take family (read: his) money to do so.

Any advice?

I believe you can get some free counseling through most churches and community centers. It might be a way to start. I think showing the legitimate desire to improve yourself and change will be better than being like an ostrich with your head in the sand. Both in real life and as perceived by the courts
