new iPad, can I get one opening day?

Does anyone have any experience or advice on waiting in line for apple products? I'm sure there will be a large line at the apple store friday morning, but is there a good chance I may not even get an iPad? Would they sell out in the first hour? Will the line be miles long? I want to go friday morning, but I just want a better idea of what to expect.

There is no queue. It's pre-order only and I suspect it will be that way for a while.

Dont forget - apple is unlike any other church. You can't just turn up and pray. You have to make an appointment.
