hi, we're about to leave for hk this month. my husband and i were wondering if we could bring some basic appliances (with motors) but a friend advised us that the electric current in hk has a specific "cycle" that will render most of our appliances here useless.

does anybody know what specific tech requirements are needed to run basic appliances such as:

- electric razors

- kitchenaide mixer

- microwave oven

- food processor

appreciate the help. thanks in advance :)

I suppose it depends entirely on where you are moving to. For example I don't think there is any problem with taking most items to the UK as it is a similar system.

You should also be able to find travel adaptors that would make all items work just fine.

Excuse my poor English. We are moving TO Hong Kong FROM the Philippines soon and the appliances with motors we use currently run on a 60 Hertz cycle. We're told if the cycle is less than that it can damage electrical equipment. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks very much.
