job hunting in Hong Kong?

Hi, I'm just looking to get some advice on job hunting in Hong Kong. I just arrived here a few days ago because I am on summer vacation and I have already seen a few other countries in SE Asia. However, I am also interested in finding IT employment in HK.

I am thinking about visiting some companies here that interest me, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Should I just try cold-calling some companies? Would it considered rude to speak to them in English? I cannot speak any Cantonese. Also, is it OK to even email them speculative applications or should I have written?

Any advice will be appreciated!

I do not have any experience in the IT industry. I obtained my BS degree a few years ago and am in grad school now, but am thinking about dropping out so I can find a job

My advice would be to get some work experience in your home country first, so that you have a track record. You have to ask yourself why a local employer would hire you, rather than a similarly experienced (or inexperienced) local.

If you dont have a work visa, the chances are extremely slim.
