I will be moving to Hong Kong very soon and my employer has arranged for me to open a bank account with HSBC. Notwithstanding the pro's and con's of HSBC does anyone know if I can deposit a bank draft drawn against my Uk Halifax account directly into my new HSBC account. The draft is made out to me in Sterling.

I think it will be the same as depositing a Sterling cheque where you pay a surcharge as it is foreign currency. It's not too much.
