Moving to HK from UK

I am on the brink of confirming that I will be moving to HK in either March or April of next year with my job. I was wondering if you could please give me an indication of “roughly” how much the rent is per month and if there is any particular nicer areas for a guy in his early 30’s to live.


Can I also check on how much tax is payable, does it differ like the UK on how much you earn or does it vary if you are a foreign national?


I would be grateful for any pointers or information you could share.

Hi Cara,


Thanks for your reply and sorry for the lack of information in my post. I am moving to HK with my job(we are a creative recruitment business), we are opening a new office and the location is likely to be around the Soho area. So I was hoping to find a place that is relatively central and easy to get about from.


I wasn't sure if it was easier to initailly look for a "shared" apartment or to look for a place on my own?


Any other advice, hints or tips would be appreciated Cara! ;-)
