Living expenses in HK

pls advice on min salary required for a family of 4 for a decent life.

It depends on what is your current life style and expectations and what you consider a decent life.

I know people who live on 30K others on 45k, others on 100K, others on 200K etc

V at least need 2 bed flat in a nice locality with parks or open areas nearby.

Only 1 kid is of school going age who is currently in UK curriculum school so wo require th same.

I would need a full time maid

V eat out on weekends and like to go places with kids..

Once a month shopping for clothes or ohe things

Tia, our family (me, my husband, 3 teen boys) recently moved to Hong Kong. My husband and I both work at an International school. I am frugal by nature, so take that into consideration when you read my answer. My goal is to spend only 16000HKD a month, apart from rent, and bank the rest. (Our school provides an apartment and our boys attend the school free of charge). After two months, we are doing fine on that amount. We eat out occasionally, have bought some applicances and have been on some beautiful hiking expeditions. Similar to anywhere, there are those who live simply and those who don't. I am not a shopper, but have been on some outings with friends who have bought beautiful name brand clothing at very cheap prices. We are loving the area and there is so much green space everywhere. No matter where you live in HK, you will be able to access parks. Hope this helps!
