Hi all,

My parents had come to visit me and help me with pre-natal support for 2 months. We had a valid visa for them and it was to get over on 12th sept as per the validity. But due to my calculation mistake(calculated 30 days in july instead of 31) i ended up booking der return ticket to india for sept 13th. As they approached the immigration yesterday, they were taken away and made to pay a fine of 160$each for mom n dad. And they gave them a visa stating permission granted to stay till sept 13th. That was a genuine mistake and i am sort of panicky now although they have safely reached home. Now our plan was to bring them back to hk at the time of delivary( in november). Shall be applying for a visa again tomorrow. But.. i am worried would this incident have caused any remarks on their records which may result in banning of their entry,.. Will there be any other problem in applying a visa again for them. ? Please help, as they are my only support for pregnancy.. Appreciate all your response.. Thanks

I suggest you contact the Immigration now and explain to them the whole situation and the mistake you made in counting the days, then ask for their advice. Maybe best is to do this in writing, stating your parents names, passport numbers and flight details, so that the next time they are applying for visas the Immigration has a written record and explanation for their reference should any questions arise?
