Hi,
We are going to Foshan to buy furnitures. We are 2 european women. so I would like to ask you a few questions:
- How can we go overthere from Hong Kong?
- Is it safe for 2 women to go overthere?
- Where can we sleep overthere, which hotel (we want to do a 2 days trip to be able to take our time)
- which mall is the best for modern furniture like sofa, dinning table, tv set...
Thank you very much for your help

i have posted on this topic extensively before. maybe search for my name
- go by bus directly from hong kong to this hotel fortuna (hotel can arrange the trip too, i think) http://hotel.elong.net/Hotel_Fortuna_Foshan-52005006-hotel/
- yes as long as you dont do anything stupid
- hotel fortuna as above
- the very first one on the road from the hotel is best for most modern but it's also most expensive

jim fit, it's just that the furniture is not in foshan but rather in lecong, shunde. so a bus to foshan is only getting them half way...

Thank you very much for all the information.
I have two more questions because I called the hotel fortuna but the reception did not understand what I was saying.
- Where can I take a bus direct from Hong kong to hotel fortuna?
- Is the hotel fortuna has a free shuttle to take us to the furnitures malls?
Thanks
Jul

julie,
- if i remember correctly, the direct bus leaves from prince edward, at the end of the portland street. google "foon lok building prince edward" in google maps to get to the right place. go down onto google street view and you see the shops that sell the bus tickets. here's one company http://www.trans-island.com.hk/eng/2011/china-line_fs.htm the blue lines are the ones stopping at hotel fortuna
- hotel fortuna you can walk easily to the nearby malls. if you want to start at the backend of the long road, take a taxi to get you to the end and walk backwards. count a whole day for sure though since these places are huge
btw my old comment
