My flat is a ground floor flat in the Midlevels and it was burgled last night. I would like to urgently install a home security system but am not familiar with what company I should use, what type of security is best, and how much it will cost.
The flat is about 1100 sq ft in size.
Any advice or contacts would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to read this.
adt, chubb, G4S are all options I have heard mentioned, with full installation at ~HK$15k plus a monthly fee ~$250 for 24/7 monitoring (you need need a land line).
Any of these companies will give you recommendation as to what you need (sensors, cameras, Gurkha guards).
A reminder that if you rent likely you need landlord approval to drill into doors/windows etc, though maybe they would be happy for you to pay to install it.

Hi thanks for this, will check it out. I am actually the owner. My tenants were burgled and pretty shaken up so if it's not too unaffordable I would like to install the system for them.
Do you also know which companies I can approach to install grilles on the windows? My tenants have asked to have them installed too.
Thank you.

Lockhart Road has half a dozen window shops that should do security grilles/bars etc, just pop along and ask (there are small specialist shops too, I think I saw one in Jaffe Rd, harbourside, near Tonnochy Road).
CNY is close, so don't delay (as no materials and no workers common this time of year, and can be another 1-2 months if you miss before CNY).

Hi, thanks a lot but I forgot to mention that I don't live in HK, so I can't go down to Lockhart Road to look and was wondering if you or anyone else on this forum have any contacts of a window shop as I urgently need to replace the window for my tenants, and also to have the grilles made.
I don't speak Cantonese unfortunately, so it would have to be a shop who can communicate in English. I have googled but have got so many random and useless results that I have given up trying to find it online.
Thanks in advance for your help.
