Stranded at the HK airport?

About a week ago I was at the airport seeing off my sister. On my way out, I "bumped" into a Caucasian gentleman on the departure level. He was going through trash cans for whatever savageable. I saw him fishing out a half-empty juice bottle. He appeared frail and a bit disheveled, pushing a luggage cart with a couple of beatup suitcases and a thick stack of newspapers arranged neatly, just like the way we often see old ladies do with the newspapers/cardboards they collect to sell for pennies. Everyone around was going about their own business and no guards/police were bothering him. I asked if I could give him some money for food. He smiled faintly and replied politely that he would appreciate that if I could spare some. And I did.

I am posting this here just in case others have noticed him as well. Maybe people could pitch in to get him a ticket home? That is if that's what he needs.
