Thank you for reading this!

My work visa is valid for another year. Family is with me in Hong Kong. I'll be returning to the U.S. in October, but my family intends to stay in Hong Kong until January. During this three months and thereafter I'll still be making some trips to Hong Kong.

My question is that will it be okay for my family to stay in Hong Kong for that 3 months before joining me in the U.S.? My payroll entity will be changed to the U.S. parent company during the validity of the work permit, does that affect the work visa or my family's status in any way?

Any of your advice is much appreciated!

There should be no problem in staying up to the end of the validity of your visas (work and dependent) stamped in your passports. You can even get in and out of HK with them. Apparently the visas are not co-terminus with your work with the sponsoring company. To keep your mind at ease, drop by the immigration department and make a personal inquiry if not, a phone call can also be made. You'll be surprised on how helpful they are.
