I am doing a clean up and have ended up with some 100-150 books that I don't feel I need to keep in my home anymore. Most of them are very good quality books in a fabulous condition.
They are a mixture of general business books, finance and economics, parenting books, non-fiction and fiction
Is there a place that would buy these off me? I don't want much for them but they are too good and many of great value to be just given or thrown away.

Thanks. Happy to do that with the fiction books but the business books etc are worth a small fortune - any idea how to get some return on those?

One mans 'small fortune' is another mans rubish.
Welcome to HK. No value is put on 2nd hand goods. If they are worth a fortune to you then don't sell them.

Donate them to a school library??.

I agree : I take a selection of our children/teenage books to my sons school, and any adult books I give to the Salvation Army ( and then I go and buy something there, so I feel extra specially good!)
The end of year school fetes are always another place to donate books.

Or you could try the Public Libraries. They also accept books.

Donate the books to Christian Action. It is an organization that helps refugees in Hong Kong adjust to life here in HK. It is located in Chungking Mansions in TST. Christian Action offers English tutorial classes for adults and children and could use more books.

I prefer to see the opposite view to nttaipei... "One man's trash is another man's treasure"! List your books under the Classifieds here. Take a few pictures, list the titles and asking price. Decide on pick up/delivery to suit you. I have sold (and bought) countless books here, and in some cases have received thank you messages from happy buyers afterwards!

You can also donate books to the SPCA in Wan Chai which they sell off in their waiting room area on the ground floor. They take books and DVD's. I bought a copy of Michael Palins around the world in 80 days and James Mays Toy Stories there for $40 !
They had a great range of coffee table photography books, architectural, home improvement, self help, child rearing books. Quite a good range for very meager prices, of which all proceeds go to the SPCA.

you might try to sell them to the English second hand books stores; some English people ran this type of biz in HK for expats.

We give our books to the cleaning lady who sells them - we are happy to have the space back and she is happy to make some extra cash.
If you want to see the market price of your books, type in the ISBN on Half.com and list them for sale.
