Hello everyone,
Wonder if I can get some advice here.
I am an Australian who had a child with a Chinese - HK resident.
Our baby was born two years ago when I rang HK immigration asking about this process, they told me children born of a HK parent was not entitled to obtain HK residency. They went on and on about Chinese people from Mainland China trying to erode the system hence they stopped giving out PR for babies born outside HK.
Does anyone know if this still stands? I would consider putting my child in HK schooling (for her to learn the Chinese culture and language) or eventually working in HK when she grows up.
Well, just another option for her to decide when she grows up.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

HK resident or HK permanent resident at the time of the child's birth? Married or unmarried to the HK resident? Are you the father or the mother?
