I need to get my identity verified on a document to send to the US. Is there any place other than the consulate to get this done? Or an attorney? Even better, on Lantau Island?

I believe Notary Publics are licensed only in the State in which they are qualified. However, I believe that any U.S admitted attorney is also qualified as a Notary Public by virtue of their being an Officer of the Court. Call AmCham for a list of US law firms with a presence in HK.
