Anyone make their own beauty products?

I have quite sensitive skin and I believe I am allergic to some kinds of chemicals. I used to DIY my own skincare but just not sure anywhere I can have reliable ingredients in Hong Kong?

For instance, active ingredients, base, anti-oxidant, emulsifying agent or humectants?

Just heard from my colleagues, there is one located in Sheung Wan, named Shiu Shing Hong. Seems quite a reputed and traditional store for beauty ingredients and essential oil. But I have never tried their products and not sure about the quality.

I know that. I think Shiu Shing Hong should be a reliable one as I know my massage house and also TCM also get some of their essential oil and beauty products ingredients from there.

I am trying their jojoba oil and I use that on my skin and hair ends. So far I am quite satisfied with the nourishing effect.

I also know that shop! Seems like my aunt purchases those from there too!

She is quite a picky personm, and thus I think Shiu Shing Hong should be a okay shop.

Can you maybe share with us your recipe of making skin care products?

I just have their essential oil on my body and never tried putting on my face as I am actually feeling a bit insecure about that. Yet, I tho want to try for a long time.

I think, as long as you have the ingredients purchased from a reliable source, it would be nice to create your own products as you can tailor-made for yourselves.

Not sure if I am doing it right, but other than following recipes from the TCM, I also create my own skincare products. For winter time, I like to add more olive oil and acid hyaluronic. And as for summer, I would make some gel base lotion and choose those thinner oil.

I asked my aunt on the receipe and somehow she's quite ramdom on that.

She suggested me a book written by a Chimed named Dr. Hoi I Cheng, about which I also know.

Seems like she has oen or two books on how to make DIY beauty products and should be worth reading.

Will try to share some once I got the book from my aunt.

I have a recipe for making moisturiser that helps enhance the facial circulation and thus keeps the skin glowy. It works great on me and my sister. See if you find this good.

Ingredients:

10ml Rosewater

10ml Acid hyaluronic solution

1tbsp Emulsifying agent

Procedures:

Just mix the ingredients well and store them in a cleansed container.

I believe you can find plenty of this kind of recipes online. But for safety reasons, I still suggest referring to those credible websites or people such as doctors and Chimed. I think you may also ask those shop keepers of the stores.

Dr. Hoi I Cheng should be a great one as I heard quite a lot of compliments of her.
