Books for a 13year old

Any recommendations for books for a 13 year old boy? He has been through the Harry Potter, Alex Rider, Horrible Histories series (in fact everything by Anthony Horowitz) and now I'm struggling to find new books. I've tried something a little more adult but he has not shown any interest.


Any suggestions?

We sponsor a couple of kids schooling here in Bali --- the boy is 12 and is liking Sherlock Holmes --- he also very much liked Angela's Ashes - the follow up T'is.... Currently reading Scifi - Enders Game and likes that a lot

Our 10 yr old is liking Tuesdays with Morrie Read More



I just passed the 12 yr old a book that I just finished and enjoyed immensely Read More (I've read a few books by this author and I think adolescents would like them)

I would highly recommend “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. A very humanitarian story. What makes it so interesting is that it is narrated by Death, who turns out to have quite a sense of humour and a soft spot for humans. I think it is perfect for any intelligent, thinking teenager.

Great I'll pass it on.


So far he devoured a Sherlock Holmes book so will get a few more and House of Hades (Rick O'Riordan) also went down a storm.
