I was involve in a car accident recently and want to see if anybody can help me clarify. I was driving into the 2 lane roundabout outter circle on the left lane and a car was in the inner circle (outer circle was clear). After I drove inside the roundabout, the car in the inner lane exit the roundabout from the inner circle (without signaling) and hit my car that was in the outer circle. Is it my fault? Thanks if anyone can help on this. Thanks a bunch.

Can you clarify whether the accident happened before the exit or right on the exit? We're you supposed to exit but did not?

If you're on the left lane, you should exit the roundabout immediately on the next available exit (that's the general rule), and cars on the right/inner lane can assume that the car on the left/outside lane is exiting the roundabout that he can change lane to the left and exit the roundabout on the next exit. But a good driver should always check before changing lanes, even in a roundabout.

Such accidents happen a lot in a two lane roundabout. The cars in the inner lane must be careful with cars coming into the rounadabout on the left while trying to exit. Cars entering the roundabout should be careful as well with cars in the inner lane because they do have to exit. I don't know who's fault it is but I'm usually extra careful going into such rounadabouts as I'm always the car in the inner lane. I do signal while leaving (a habit) but most cars don't. Cars in the roundabout have right of way if you are just entering it.
