Roof Terrace and Typhoons

ORIGINAL POST

Hi everyone,

I've just moved to a place with a large roof terrace, and am planning on getting some outdoor plants and furniture. I just wanted to check if anyone had advice on what the best way is to deal with typhoons in terms of tying furniture down? Most of it will be too big for me to bring back inside.

Thanks!

We have heavy teak furniture and although it has scuttled across the roof in typhoon number 10, it stays put on the roof. Everything else has been ripped off the roof (including the outer metal sheeting of the roof door!).

Do you strap the other stuff down? I read about getting hooks installed in the roof wall to strap furniture down but I have no idea where to buy the straps from? Any suggestions?

We don't keep plants on the roof anymore. Chair cushions and towels are pulled inside. Windchimes, umbrellas, and anything not heavy teak has been blown away.
